Requirements:

Canine Companions for Independence, a national non-profit organization providing assistance dogs for people with disabilities other than blindness, is seeking a Puppy Program Manager for our Long Island facility. This is a full time position which oversees puppy placement, puppy raiser support, communication with program departments, and public awareness throughout our Northeast region. This position is responsible for providing direct support to puppy raisers through orientation, mentoring, follow-up, running and coordination of puppy classes, puppy reports, and workshops. Some weekends, evenings and travel required.

College graduate or equivalent. Prior dog handling and training experience required. Volunteer management experience desirable. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written skills, be a team player and have strong problem solving and people skills. Proficiency in Word and Excel and public speaking experience desirable.
